Craig Lesley Presents

I listened to the Oregon author Craig Lesley Thursday Nov. 3rd at Portland State University. He talked about his new book that is more or less autobiographical. He revealed his difficult childhood relationship with his father and stepfather. I felt a sense of deja-vu. Not because I’m a writer with parental issues so much as another guy with a rocky father and stepfather history.

I guess his openness about his family, childhood, past and relative poverty as a child raised my appreciation of him as a writer and a person. Now I’ll have to read some more of his work. When? I have books overflowing my house already!
